Description du projet :

Ce projet a pour but de créer une cible générique pour le domaine de robotique souvent proposés aux étudiants. Les library sont développées pour les différents périphériques tels que les modules XBee, les sorties PWM, l'UART,... Ceci afin d'offrir la possibilité de faire du "rapid prototyping" tout en utilisant les outils professionnels de développment.

Une gamme de cartes est prévue.

Description du projet :

Développement de toute la partie contrôle, communication et puissance de l'électronique des bateaux réalisés dans le cadre du concours HydroContest-X 2019. Cela inclu une carte de contrôle des moteurs des gouvernails, des foils ainsi que la puissance de l'hélice ainsi qu'une carte dites de commande qui gère la télémétrie et la configuration de l'électronique en générale. La communication pour la télémétrie a été faite avec le protocole ZigBee.

Résumé:

We report on the development of a radio frequency (RF) linear accelerator (linac) for multiple-ion beams that is made from stacks of low cost wafers. The accelerator lattice is comprised of RF-acceleration gaps and electrostatic quadrupole focusing elements that are fabricated on 4” wafers made from printed circuit board or silicon. We demonstrate ion acceleration with an effective gradient of about 0.5MV m−1 with an array of 3 × 3 beams. The total ion beam energies achieved to date are in the 10 keV range with total ion currents in tests with noble gases of ∼0.1 mA. We discuss scaling of the ion energy (by adding acceleration modules) and ion currents (with more beams) for applications of this multi-beam RF linac technology to ion implantation and surface modification of materials.

Identifying an Emotional State from Body Movements Using Genetic-Based Algorithms

Emotions may not only be perceived by humans, but could also be identified and recognized by a machine. Emotion recognition through pattern analysis can be used in expert systems, lie detectors, medical emergencies, as well as during rescue operations to quickly identify people in distress. This paper describes a system capable of recognizing emotions based on the arm movement. Features extracted from 3D skeleton using Kinect sensor are classified by five commonly used machine learning techniques: K nearest neighbors, SVM, Decision tree, Neural Network and Naive Bayes. A genetic algorithm is then invoked to find the best system parameters to achieve the higher recognition rate. The system achieved 98.96% average accuracy on the experimental dataset.

In particle accelerators, “field markers” provide a digital trigger when the magnetic field crosses a given threshold. In this paper, the metrological characterization of a magnetic field marker, based on a ferrimagnetic resonance transducer referencing the flux sensed by a coil, is reported. The experimental results of a validation test campaign at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) to test the marker in static as well as fast ramping fields (up to 2.5 T/s) are illustrated. The repeatability of ±4 μT attained in the range (60 to 100) mT is very promising to increase the performance of the Proton Synchrotron accelerator at CERN.

Résumé:

Recognition from body movement is a challenging domain of research that lies at an intersection of machine learning, biometric security and cognitive functions domain. It can be highly beneficial for expert systems, lie detectors, border control, medical emergencies, as well as search and rescue operations. This paper describes a first prototype of a real-time system capable of recognizing four gestures that correlate to human emotions based on the arm movements. Features extracted from the 3D skeleton using Kinect v2 sensor are classified using an SVM method. The system is tested in real-time on a Kinect database with the embedded system using an optimized algorithm for skeleton extraction in real-time.
