Born in Normandy, Christelle Lheureux is a filmmaker and artist. She lives in Paris and has been teaching at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) since 2006. After studying at the universities of Amiens and Paris VIII, the École des Beaux-Arts de Grenoble and Le Fresnoy, she has created numerous video installations and taken part in contemporary art exhibitions, biennials and residencies across Europe and Asia.
Christelle has collaborated on her projects with a wide range of writers, filmmakers, artists, architects and choreographers, including Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Marie Darrieussecq, Wajdi Mouawad, Philippe Rahm, Christophe Fiat, Sébastien Betbeder and Vera Mantero.
Since 2010, she has directed several medium-length films, including her most acclaimed works, La maladie Blanche (2011), La terre penche (2015), 80 000 ans (2020) and Myrtilles la nuit (2026), which have received awards at festivals including Côté Court in Pantin (Grand Prix and Press Prize), the Brive Film Festival (Ciné+ Award), the International Film Festival Rotterdam (Tiger Short) and ISFF New York 2021 (In Vivo Award).
Her films have been selected for numerous international festivals, including Visions du Réel in Nyon, IndieLisboa, the Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montréal, BAFICI in Buenos Aires, Entrevues Belfort, Cinéma du Réel in Paris and BEFF Bangkok. Some of her films were shortlisted for the César Award for Best Short Film.
She is currently preparing her first fiction feature film, Are You OK?, produced by Kidam.
